The Pop Shuvit
The Pop Shuvit is a trick that skaters learn on flatgorund and then take it to the streets. It is one of the first tricks that skaters learn. It can even be done before learning to ollie. The skater pops their board 180 degrees around while their body stays straight. Think of a pizza spinning around and that is what the skateboard looks like. There are varying degrees of this trick. An expert will pop their boards high into the air and get all four wheels off of the ground. Then they will catch the board on their feet before returning to Earth. A beginner would most likely kick their board around and pray that it lands back under their feet. This trick is all about precision and control. Foot placement is the key component to learning this trick. Most skaters try to Pop Shuvit 1,000 times just to get the muscle memory down. It is a simple but beautiful trick when done by a true skate master. Pop it up, shove it around, and bring it back down.
